Background

Through analysis of our 1:1 session themes, Amplify uncovered a previously unidentified gap in neurodiversity support within a client organisation. The client business had not previously recognised the significant impact of undiagnosed and unsupported neurodivergent conditions (like Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Dyslexia) on employee wellbeing and performance. Moreover, neurodiversity was an exclusion in the company's private medical insurance (PMI) coverage.

Challenges

Employees faced significant mental health and performance impacts due to a lack of timely neurodiversity diagnosis and support. Long NHS waiting lists, expensive self-funded private assessments, and insufficient PMI coverage meant a growing need for accessible diagnostic and post-diagnostic support.

Intervention

In collaboration with senior HR leaders, Amplify developed and implemented a comprehensive response:

  • Data-Driven Insight: Our analytics identified the neurodiversity support gap, revealing a hidden organisational challenge.

  • Holistic Evaluation: Amplify conducted an in-depth assessment of the organisation's neurodiversity landscape.

  • Bespoke Strategy: Amplify designed a tailored neurodiversity assessment and post-diagnostic support programme, funded by the employer, complemented by customised guidance resources.

  • Rapid Deployment: Amplify launched the initiatives within weeks, dramatically reducing wait times compared to traditional routes.

Outcome

This approach not only addressed an urgent need but also positioned our client business as a leader in neurodiversity support, enhancing employee wellbeing, performance and retention. The swift, targeted intervention demonstrated Amplify's unique ability to uncover and address a critical workplace issue impacting employee mental health and performance.
